It was love at first sight! Great experience of living in a cottage in the woods. We spent 2 nights here and did not want to leave, even our dog enjoyed it (yes, you can bring your dog with you!!!) We felt at home from the moment we walked in: all these little touches and antique things that fill this house kept me occupied for at least half a day. My favourites are a Singer sawing machine in one of the bedrooms and a collection of old tea tins, and coffee cups, and the kerosine lamp, and... oh, I just loved every single thing in this house! The weather was horrible when we were there, but it did not ruin our holiday in any way. It was so warm and cosy inside with that lovely woodfire that we could not be bothered going anywhere. By the way there are so many board games in that cupboard in the dining area. And you can play basketball on the playground down the hill.On the practical side: it was very warm in every room of the house. The beds were very comfy and that is coming from a very fussy person who usually cannot sleep anywhere but home. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might possibly need on a holiday. And as much as it feels like you are far away from civilisation, the nearest supermarket and/or cafe is only a 5 min drive away.Thank you, Paula, you are lovely! We will most definitely come back!
Pretty good
Overall a bit disappointed with this place. The positives: close to wineries, quiet, pretty countryside and lots of bedrooms to sleep our large group of friends with children. The negatives: the main house is old, lots of spiders, tap water not drinkable (it's greenish) clean water is provided but you still need to wash dishes and shower in the tap water, not dog friendly (no fence so dogs need to be tied up and leashed all the time - the owners also have a dog so we couldn't let ours off the leash to run free much at all).
Fantastic time here with family Would go again for another adventure at Redland.. had a warm welcome from Paula and family Highly recommended for a family gathering
Stayed here recently in the "Mirambeena" house and was very disappointed. Old building and although there were 2 bathrooms, the upstairs shower leaked downstairs rendering it useless. That left 1 shower for 6 adults and 3 children... The property (land) is quite nice, but the features in the house were just too old. Would not call this value for money.
